Maria A Arana

girl bleeds…

girl bleeds the color of an ocean

surrounded by green-blue ghosts

-a prisoner who drinks

warm poison from men

each morning

embracing the naked smiles

in marble with a growl

Tonight, it’s You

where are you

tonight

the stars cry

a blue silhouette

of your face

where are you

where do you hide

as the waning moon

christens the water below

here I stand

waiting

longing

for a past to come

to life

the rocks fill

with the salt

of a sea unlocked

and you continue to weigh

inside the darkest woods

making it a bosom

you’d half-expect

to wake from

there is no such thing…

there is no such thing as fate

delivered

stoned

parallel to the universe

we make our own excuse

and when it is time to stand

we fall

not believing the cause stares at us

from the comfort of our roofs
